This Privacy Policy applies to the Mind Games application (the "Application") created by Krishnaprasanth ("Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our"), an individual operating as a sole proprietor based in Tamil Nadu, India. This service is provided "AS IS".
Mind Games is a daily puzzle application offering five short puzzles per day (Word, Sudoku, Math Sprint, Memory Tiles, Logic Riddle) with a local day-streak counter. The Application does not require account sign-up, and we operate no backend servers that store your personal data.
The Application may process the following categories of information:
If you are located in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6 of the UK GDPR / EU GDPR for each processing purpose:
| Processing purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Running puzzles, tracking your local streak, storing preferences on your device | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — necessary to provide the Application you have chosen to use. |
| Showing local reminder notifications | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — granted via the system notification permission, which you may revoke at any time. |
| Serving personalized ads via Google AdMob | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — obtained through the in-app consent form. |
| Serving non-personalized ads where personalization is declined | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — supporting a free, ad-funded version of the Application, balanced against your privacy interests. |
| Processing the "Remove Ads" purchase | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). |
| Checking for app updates and surfacing the review prompt | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — keeping the Application secure, up to date, and improving over time. |
| Recording your consent choice | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — required to demonstrate compliance with ePrivacy / GDPR rules. |
| Collecting anonymized analytics events via Firebase Analytics | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — collection is enabled only when your consent choice allows it (same gate as advertising). |
| Collecting anonymized crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — collection is enabled only when your consent choice allows it (same gate as advertising). |
On first launch, and in regions where required, the Application shows a consent form provided by Google. Your choice controls whether AdMob and any current or future advertising partners may use personalized advertising signals. You can change your consent choice at any time from the in-app privacy options (where available) or by reinstalling the Application.
The Application uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices:
The third-party services listed in Section 5 are operated by Google LLC and affiliated entities. Personal data processed by these services may be transferred to, and stored or processed in, the United States and other countries where Google operates infrastructure, which may have data-protection laws different from your country of residence.
Where such transfers involve personal data of users in the EEA or UK, the third-party services rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the UK Addendum, as described in the privacy policies of the relevant Google services. We ourselves do not separately transfer your personal data outside India.
The Application shows two local reminder notifications per day: a morning "puzzles ready" reminder and an evening "streak at risk" reminder if you have not completed today's puzzles. Notifications are generated on your device and are not delivered through any push service. On Android 13 and later, the Application asks for the notification permission on first launch. You may decline or revoke it at any time from your device's Settings.
All gameplay data and preferences are stored on your device. Your premium purchase status is intentionally excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so that paid features are not restored on an unrelated install or device.
Other local data (such as your streak and puzzle history) follows the standard Android backup behaviour and may be restored from your Google account if you reinstall the Application while signed in to the same Google account. To delete this backed-up data, manage app backups from your Google account at https://drive.google.com/drive/backups.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising other than as described in Sections 4 and 5. Information is shared only with the third-party service providers listed in Section 5, strictly to operate the features they support (advertising, billing, updates, and reviews).
| Data category | Retention | How to delete |
|---|---|---|
| Local gameplay data, preferences, consent state | Kept on your device until you delete it. | Clear app data from Android Settings, or uninstall the Application. |
| Android backup of streak / puzzle history (if backup is enabled) | Retained per Google's backup policies (typically until the backup is overwritten or the Google account is deleted). | Manage at drive.google.com/drive/backups. |
| Advertising identifiers and ad interaction data (held by Google AdMob) | Per Google's advertising data retention policies. | Reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads. |
| Purchase records (held by Google Play) | Retained by Google Play for as long as the purchase remains active in your Google account. | Managed through your Google account; entitlement queries handled by Google Play. |
| Analytics events and device metadata (held by Firebase Analytics / Google) | Per Firebase's data retention policies. Default event-level retention is 2 months; user-level retention is up to 14 months, configurable by us in the Firebase console. | Opt out by declining the consent form, or reset your Advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads. Reinstalling the Application generates a new Firebase Installation ID. |
| Crash reports (held by Firebase Crashlytics / Google) | Per Firebase's data retention policies. Crash data is retained for 90 days by default. | Opt out by declining the consent form. Crashlytics collection is disabled when consent is not granted. |
We ourselves do not store any of the data above on our servers, because the Application does not transmit personal data to a backend operated by us.
